Our Purpose

"Offering opportunities to have fun and enjoyable experiences which will allow you to retain positive memories"

Our purpose here at Day Opportunities is to create a safe, warm and friendly environment which provides service users with every opportunity to develop and grow in confidence and self esteem, and to recognise their inherent self worth. This is based within a framework of reward and praise with an underlying person-centred approach through our interesting and meaningful daytime activities.

We offer medium and short term support to small groups of people with moderate to profound multiple disabilities. We are able to offer this on a part-time or full time basis, with times of the service around Service User’s individual requirements.

We provide an environment in which care staff can work intensively with people on both a 1:1 and group work basis, promoting the achievement of full personal potential and, where necessary, encouraging independence. We seek to continuously improve the quality of care we provide to people, listening to and taking account of the views, wishes and feelings of the people we support and vigorously monitoring and evaluating our practices and procedures support.

At Opportunities we welcome everyone, and provide for the needs of people from different backgrounds, religious and cultural. We ensure that people are not discriminated against in any way, and provide high quality, consistent and nurturing care in line with the Governments White Paper “Valuing People” and other relevant documentation, by emulating the small homes model enabling people to achieve their full potential.

Key to our work is providing our users with opportunities to have fun and enjoyable experiences which will allow them to retain positive memories. We work in partnership with all those who have caring responsibilities so that we can safeguard and promote people’s welfare and development.
