Day Opportunities was established in July 2000, followed by Lifetime Opportunities in 2004. Initially supporting 3 young people, over the past 9 years we have successfully expanded our services without ‘diluting’ our initial philosophy. We have purpose-built and designed one of our services; other bases have been designed around the needs of the people who attend.
We are able to offer fixed bases for those who require such a service, as well as community based activities with a named base to pop back to when necessary. Our services are now available from 7 separate locations, with us now able to meet the needs of over 38 people. We have been recognised as a Preferred Provider with local authorities and also have contracts with PCT.
At Day Opportunities we provide daytime bases for adults and young people aged 16+ with learning disabilities, including profound multiple disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders and associated challenging behaviour.
Coming to a new place can be very difficult, but all the staff are here to help make things easier for you and to help you if needed. You will have a Key Worker who will support you to settle in.
They will work with you and your family on completing an assessment which will help us find out what you like or dislike, what activities you would like to try and what you aim to work towards. All the staff work as a team, so if your Key Worker is ever off, you can ask another member of staff for advice or help.
At each of our bases we have a team of staff who will all help make your day special and will be available to you during your time at Day Opportunities
